Top day tours 2017

It’s time to pick The Top Day Tours 2017!

This year, we will pick three tours that we think will, for various reasons, be the must-do on your Iceland visit. In no special order they are:

West Iceland:

Vidgelmir lava tube/cave has been renovated in a very special way. The tours down into the cave are out of this world and are a must do for any visitor.

Hraunfossar waterfalls, a cascade of countless waterfalls able to render people speechless.

For the romantics, Paradísarlaut (paradise grove), and an easy climb up Grabrok (a small volcano).

Snæfellsnes.

This place is magical and beautiful. Rugged and beautiful. A peninsula that is a volcanic ridge culminating in Snaefellsjokull, a glacier capped volcano that used to be (and still is) shrouded in mystery. The volcano is the setting for Jules Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth. Really.

Djupalonssandur is an otherworldly place, where you can sit on the black pebble beach and daydream or crawl around looking for that impossible to find perfectly spherical pebble. Breathtaking no matter where you turn.

Some pretty great food is to be found on the peninsula. Best fish ever.

Midnight Golden Circle.

This one is our specialty. We depart in the afternoon, doing the classic Golden Circle in reverse, and thus avoid the crowds. We might actually get some of these hugely popular sights completely to ourselves. We end the tour around midnight, under the midnight sun, at Thingvellir national park. Perfect end to a perfect day.

These have been our Top Day Tours 2017. Give us a shout and we’ll put together something fantastic for you!
